Softball Nova Provincial Program Team Name Showdown Contest
Softball NS is viewing ways to engage way our members to be involved in the naming process of our
Provincial Program. Softball NS goal is to add an element of excitement and anticipation as
participants await the announcement of the official team name and the start-up of the Softball NS
Provincial program's new season.
Submission Phase:
Participants will submit their proposed team names along with a brief explanation of the inspiration
behind their suggestion.
Submissions will be collected through an online form, email, at Softball NS events.
Review and Shortlisting:
Representatives from Softball NS will review the submissions and shortlist a set of the most creative
and fitting team names.
Consideration will include criteria like creativity, relevance to Nova Scotia or softball, and overall
team spirit in the selection process. The shortlisted team names will be shared with the Softball NS
community.
Winner Announcement:
The team’s name with the highest number of votes becomes the official name for the Softball NS
program. The winner will receive recognition and acknowledgment for the winning team name at a
special event, through social media, or on the Softball NS website.
Prizes:
Prizes will be award to the individual who submitted the winning team name. The prizes will be
Rawlings merchandise softball-related goodies.
Rules and Guidelines:
Ensure that submissions adhere to appropriate language and are in line with the values and image of
Softball NS.
Submissions should be in good taste for a softball team.
Participants can submit multiple entries.
Encourage creativity and originality in the team name suggestions.
Participants must be current 2023 registered Softball NS members to enter the contest.
Softball NS Board members are not eligible to participate in the contest.
The public will vote for the winner from the shortlist made by the committee
If multiple people submit the winning name, a draw will be made for the prize.
