Softball Nova Scotia is seeking ambitious, organized, and committed individuals to
serve in a capacity as Head and Assistant Coaches for the 2025 Women's High Performance Program.
This Program will see the formation of teams at the U-15 U17 & U-19 Women's categories
Head Coaches must provide:
Program Leadership:
Must be committed to the program, providing strategic leadership for the development and implementation of the
Female Provincial Program, ensuring alignment with Softball Nova Scotia's goals
and values. Develop a comprehensive training curriculum that addresses the needs of athletes at various skill levels.
Player Development:
Implement player development initiatives that focus on skill enhancement, tactical understanding, and overall athletic growth.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development.
Coaching Staff Management:
Mentor assistant coaches and support staff within the Female Provincial Program. Conduct regular coaching meetings to ensure a unified coaching approach.
Talent Identification:
Work collaboratively with local leagues, clubs, and schools to identify and recruit
talented female athletes for the provincial program. Develop and maintain scouting and recruitment networks.
Competition Strategy:
Develop and implement effective competition strategies for provincial teams, ensuring athletes are prepared for regional and national competitions. Analyze opponents and adapt coaching strategies accordingly.
Communication:
Act as a liaison between Softball Nova Scotia, athletes, parents, and coaching staff. Provide regular updates on program activities, performance expectations, and other relevant information to Softball NS.
Head Coach must have the following qualifications:
o Competition Introduction Certified. Extensive coaching experience, preferably
at the elite or representative level in female softball.
o Strong leadership and organizational skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Coaching certification at the highest level available, or a commitment to
obtaining such certification.
o Must Submit CRC/VSC
Assistant Coach Position must have the following qualifications: o Competition Introduction Trained. Extensive coaching experience, preferably at the elite or representative level in female softball.
o Strong leadership and organizational skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o A commitment to obtaining such certification.

Provincial Team Manager
Responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and support of the provincial team during the season and at all competitions. The team manager will act as the primary liaison between the coaching staff, athlete’s parents/guardians.
o Must Submit CRC/VSC
Serve as the main point of contact for players and families.
Manage team communications schedules, travel arrangements, and program updates Assist with team registration, roster submissions.
Organize and maintain all necessary documents (travel permits, team forms). Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe team environment on and off the field. Organize the ordering, distribution, and collection of team uniforms and apparel. Assist with equipment management.
Ensure athletes and staff, families complete all Safe Sport, Respect in Sport polices. Assist with budgeting, fundraising, and in collaboration with Provincial governing body. Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Team Manager are required to abide by the policies; rules and regulations; and other guidelines handed down by Softball Nova Scotia.
